Where are you based?

Johannesburg, Gauteng.

What days do you deliver?

We deliver on Fridays and Mondays, between 10h00 and 17h00. Orders received between Monday and Thursday are delivered on Friday. Orders received between Friday and Sunday are delivered on Monday. Your delivery date will be confirmed with you ahead of time. We currently deliver within South Africa only.

How should I store my products?

Fresh products should be stored in the refrigerator on arrival. Biltong and drywors should be kept in a cool, dry place; once opened, keep them in an airtight container or resealable bag.

How do I cancel an order after placing it?

Contact us through the Contact Us page with the reason for your cancellation. We will review it and come back to you as soon as possible to conclude the matter.

How do I return an order?

Email us through the Contact Us page within 1 hour of receiving your order, with pictures showing the issue. We will assess it and discuss the return with you.

What if I have not received my order?

If you have not received your order within 5 working days, contact us immediately at info@mathathama.com or thabo@mathathama.com, or through the Contact Us page. We will help you track and resolve it.

Are you halal certified?

Our beef supplier is halal certified. Our facility is not halal certified.

Biltong and Drywors

1. What is biltong?

Biltong is a traditional South African snack made from dried, cured meat, typically beef, seasoned with a blend of spices.

2. How is The MT Pantry's biltong different from others?

We use only A-grade beef sourced from local suppliers in Johannesburg, and our biltong is crafted in-house. Our unique spice blends create intense flavour profiles that set our biltong apart in taste and quality.

3. How long does biltong last?

Unopened, our biltong has a shelf life of several months. Once opened, it is best enjoyed within a week for maximum freshness.

4. Do you offer assorted flavours?

Yes. We offer a variety of flavour profiles, each crafted with our own spice blends to suit different tastes.

5. Can I customise my biltong order?

Yes. You can choose your preferred cut and flavour options when placing your order online.

6. Is your biltong gluten free?

Yes. Our biltong is made without gluten-containing ingredients, making it a great option for those with gluten sensitivities.

7. Do you use artificial preservatives or additives?

No. Our biltong is free from artificial preservatives and additives.

8. Is the biltong halal friendly?

Our beef supplier is halal certified; however, our facility is not halal certified.

9. Are your drywors casings halal?

No, our current casings are not halal. We are working to source halal-friendly casings as part of our effort to be as halal friendly as possible.

10. Do you ship internationally?

Not yet. We currently deliver within South Africa only and are working on expanding in the future.
